Sea of Thieves is a shared-world pirate adventure where crews sail, explore, hunt treasure, complete Tall Tales, and encounter other players as friends or foes. Ship choice sets the crew cap: a Sloop carries one or two pirates, a Brigantine carries three, and a Galleon supports four, with cross-play across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5.

How many people can join one Sea of Thieves crew?
The maximum is four pirates on a Galleon. Sloops support one or two pirates, while Brigantines support three, so include the intended ship and open roles in an LFG post.
Does Sea of Thieves support cross-platform crews?
Yes. Players can form cross-play crews across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5. Console players can also set matchmaking preferences for platform or controller pools.
Does Sea of Thieves have in-game voice chat?
Yes. In-game voice chat works with your crew and with pirates encountered in the shared world. Safety settings can mute other crews while keeping invited or matchmade crew chat available.
